FAMA preserves memory and transfers knowledge to present and future generations about survival and resilience in a city under siege, through lessons learned.
Two interactive projects offer an immersive learning experience of the Siege of Sarajevo (1992–1996). The first invites exploration of different elements on the Survival Map through layered multimedia content, while the second combines Chronology timelines and Video Oral History testimonies by month (March 1992–March 1996).
Knowledge Transfer Module presents thematic and structured learning on three defining topics, grounded in facts, evidence and the culture of remembrance.
Macro Story is a new form of knowledge transfer pioneered by FAMA to inform and inspire audiences about the Siege of Sarajevo phenomenon. This curated narrative captures the resilience, survival, innovation and creativity of citizens within the context of a specific theme, using materials from the FAMA Collection.
FAMA Projects are presented in chronological order from 1990 to the present, with the objective of preserving their original content for posterity. Each project-dossier contains reference information, explains its concept and methodology, and provides access to digitised content that retains its original form and characteristics.
