It presents a new learning model based on FAMA’s archival projects on the Siege of Sarajevo, the fall of Yugoslavia, and the Dayton Peace Agreement. Presented in a specially designed “Memory Box”, the multimedia collection offers a multidimensional perspective on survival, terror, and diplomacy, serving as a lasting resource for education and historical analysis. It has been distributed across Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Western Balkans, and internationally, to promote factography, preserve knowledge for future generations, and encourage transboundary dialogue.
Our long-term research naturally culminated in an educational package (encyclopaedia, video oral history, maps, guide, album) intended for various age groups, professions, and institutions. Once again, we concluded that the FAMA Package, in both English and Bosnian, should be donated to city, national, regional, and global libraries, as it is essential to store it in appropriate locations. When and how it will acquire practical value is no longer up to us. As always, what mattered to us was completing our contribution to interpreting the 1991–1999 period and making this unique Knowledge Bank available to the scientific and intellectual community.
Note:
All of these projects have since demonstrated that this method is key to documenting events if we want our efforts to serve as a meaningful contribution to the interpretation and understanding of the 1991–1999 period in the former Yugoslavia, for both local and global education. This project has already proven and continues to prove its value as a contribution to the process of truth and reconciliation, as well as to the democratisation of post-war society.
