The Knowledge Transfer Module translates four years of continuous siege terror (1992–1996) into an evidence-based study of individual survival and collective resilience under extreme urban conditions. Drawing on material from the FAMA Collection, the module documents how a besieged city developed a “new normal” and a parallel civic reality in which adaptation and creativity became necessities. It traces the survival logic of everyday life and work as a discipline of mental endurance, the deliberate creation of small ‘normal’ routines to maintain balance, and the role of humour, perseverance, art and ingenuity alongside the search for food, water, light and fuel. Rather than theorising resilience, the three editions use first-hand evidence to show how citizens managed fear, uncertainty and isolation when systems collapsed. The result is a structured learning resource that links Sarajevo’s lived experience to contemporary risks and challenges.
