Mapped Sites
We selected the 30 most significant locations in Sarajevo from the Survival Map. Each of the selected locations had its own special and changed function during the siege. The everyday life of the citizens of Sarajevo took place in these locations. However, every selected building, every street, intersection and every park simultaneously represented risk zones where one wrong decision or one wrong step means death. In order to understand the significance of these locations during the siege of the city, we selected parts of interviews with citizens of Sarajevo from the FAMA Collection (Video Oral History: The Siege of Sarajevo 1992-1996).
