FIGHTING THE RATS

The birds were dying from hunger due to the shortages, as there was not enough food for everybody. Dogs have become wanders, that is, they have become homeless, and they had to take care of themselves, and turn came for the cats in that some kind of natural circle, as than they have fallen a victim. It was unusual that suddenly all the cats have moved out the city closer to the trenches. Half way up the Trebevic near the trenches, which was unusual, you would see a small kitten, yours or somebody else’s pet. The people remained in the city. Dog has suffered the same way and the rats have remained. Because, when there is no cat in the house than the mice’s lead the dance. That is how we had one additional problem beside the shells, beside direct fear for life, beside the snipers, we had to share the little food we had with mice’s and rats. Than one game for survival has started. The food has been disappearing with each day, and there were more and more mice’s. Than we were inventing different ways to fight with them. There were none of those classic means for the fight so we had to be very smart, start remembering some of the old ways, and that is when the people have shown like, in many other things in the war, their extreme imagination.
